Help is available for qualifying homeowners and renters in Burke, Divide, McKenzie, Montreal and Williams Counties for those who have been without power for five or more days due to the April ice storm and blizzard. The Northwest North Dakota Emergency Housing Stability Program can provide temporary help with housing related costs, including fuel costs to operate a generator and supply power to a family’s home, or hotel lodging costs.

You can learn more and apply at helpishere.nd.gov. That’s helpishere.nd.gov. Just click on the housing tab, or you can contact the North Star or Montreal McKenzie Human Service zones. The funding is provided by the North Dakota Department of Human Services. Deadline to apply is June 15th.
