Ticks live in grassy, brushier, wooded areas. They can also be found on animals. For personal use, applying EPA registered insect repellent, helpful in preventing ticks from attaching and transmitting disease. After you come inside, check your clothing for ticks, making sure that you shower within the first two hours. Check in areas such as under the arms, in and around the ears, inside your belly button, on the backs of your knees, in and around hair lines, between legs and around the waist. All of these things can help prevent tick bites and tick diseases.
